Born and bred South Londoner has been at the coalface of the local creative scene for many years, earning all manner of accolades along the way – including the PRS Steve Reid InNOVAtion Award – and generally being regarded one of the chillest dudes going.
After debuting his new live band in support of a Flako show earlier on in the 2017, Hector Plimmer makes his way to Ghost Notes for a headline spot of his own. The producer has been performing live for nearly as long as he’s been making beats, though generally via a table-top studio set-up. These days Hec goes out with a proper ensemble featuring Albert’s Favourites co-founder – and Ghost Notes own in-house bandleader – Dave Koor on keys and vocalist And Is Phi, whilst he runs things from behind the drum kit.
With the likes of Gilles Peterson, Kutmah, Alexander Nut, MNDSGN, Onra, Dego, Kaidi, Max Graef & Glenn Astro all offering their strong and continued support, expect the kind of mixed bag Hector dips into with his productions. Bringing them to the stage with his own live band promises to add yet another angle to the intriguing amalgam of Funk, Hip Hop and Afro-centric staples with out-there electronics and beats.
