WEST NORWOOD CASSETTE LIBRARY

DEAR EARTH (LIVE)

TOM ESSELLE

CHRIS ESSELLE

PARTY CARTER

Wholemeal Music have been providing Peckham with parties that pump since 2010, but perhaps even more importantly that those seven years of speaker shaking the imprint also serves as a conduit between some of the neighbourhood’s proudest pillars: starting life as a brainchild of barkeep extraordinaire Chris Lawes, the clique also comprises his brother Tom – he of YAM acclaim – as well as Good Block’s tried and tested bass bin botherer Party Carter and SE15’s funkiest flaneur Dear Earth.

The brothers Esselle Ghost Notes for a very special Friday session this January, with the added bonus of a live performance from the aforementioned Dear Earth. For the uninitiated, his exquisite Gone Solid Gone EP was one of our favourite releases out of the ends in 2017. Imagine D’Angelo, but from Deptford, and you’re almost there.

Heading up the running is a South London stalwart whose discography that spans two decades, though it’s in most recent years that Bob Bhamra has garnered underground acclaim through his West Norwood Cassette Library moniker and WNCL imprint. Armed with a trademark stack of acetates, Bob will be joining the dots between Bass, House and the Hardcore continuum with typically loose lines.
